This is an introduction to the international symposium "Ultraviolet Sky Survey – the needs and the means" that will take place at Tel Aviv University from July 10 to July 14, 2017. The purpose of this meeting is to gather the international astronomical community interested in UV astronomy to discuss the present and the future of the field of sky surveys in this spectral range.
The topics to be discussed and the program containing (for now) only the invited talks can be viewed at the meeting web site: http://www.astro.tau.ac.il/events/uss/. Note that the registration and abstract submission are now open and the early registration fee is valid only until March 15.
